Brand marketing business Wild Thang has secured a top industry accolade at the start of 2023 after ending 2022 on a high.

In November Bootle-based Wild Thang won the Business of the Year (over 30 employees) award at the Liverpool Chamber Innovation in Business Awards. Founder and managing director Andrew Dwerryhouse called it a “special moment” in the firm’s 26-year history.

Now Wild Thang is reporting further success after being named one of Sourcing City’s Distributors of the Year for 2022.

Sourcing City’s awards are widely recognised in the industry for showing how well both suppliers and companies in the branded merchandise sector are regarded by each other. Both sides of the industry vote for the companies they believe offer leading quality, service and integrity.

According to Andrew, winning such an accolade is “not easy to do”. He praised the “world class” team at Wild Thang, the “decades of expert experience across every department” and the “great team atmosphere”.

“It is the perfect recipe for success,” he told LBN. “This award really is the perfect start to the New Year, to add this to the Liverpool Chamber Business Of The Year Award. Even though 2022 was a challenging year it is simply wonderful.

“This really highlights all the hard work done by every team member across every department to deliver world class products and services over the past year.”

After defying the headwinds of the pandemic to invest £2m in the expansion of Wild Thang, Andrew now oversees a business that operates from a state-of-the art 20,000 sq ft facility. Headcount has grown by 25% over the past year with more jobs on the way.

And, as well as expanding into the Irish Republic to serve its EU-based clients, the firm is also stepping up its drive to become net zero carbon over the next few years.

It supplies a full range of branded marketing materials for clients across multiple business sectors. It will put a business logo on just about anything.

Blue-chip clients include Vimto, SkyBet, McDonald’s, Princes Foods, LJMU and Paddy Power. The firm also does work for a number of Premier League clubs including Liverpool and Everton.

Andrew also offered praise to members of his sales team – Jon Parle, Carrie Dwerryhouse, Joe Nugent, Louise Henderson and Stacey Kirk – who have successfully passed their British Promotional Merchandise Association exams “with flying colours”.

He added: “We are glad to have a great long-term partnership with the exceptional suppliers involved in our supply chain but also big thanks to our amazing clients we work with on a daily basis.

“We all know it’s about continuous improvement and pushing the boundaries so our world class sales team will be working harder than ever in 2023 to uphold our industry integrity and world class standards to make it our biggest and best year ever.”
