A jobs fair is being held in Wirral in March for young people aged 16 to 25 and will offer training sessions on using AI tools to boost their employment and training chances. Tony McDonough reports

Helping young people to use artificial intelligence (AI) to increase their chances of securing employment and training will be a feature of a jobs fair in March.
Being held at the Floral Pavilion in New Brighton on Thursday, March 5, the jobs fair is aimed at helping young people aged 16-25 get into work and training. Taking place from 11am to 2pm it will offer information on employers and training providers.
There will also be a chance for those attending the fair to learn how to use AI in searching for the right job or training, from using it to define career goals, create a compelling CV and prepare for interviews in special sessions.
The AI sessions will be an hour long and will run between 10am and 2pm on the day of the jobs fair. Booking ahead for the AI sessions is essential – anyone interested should email ec*******************@********ov.uk.
Leader of Wirral Council, Cllr Paula Basnett, said: “These jobs fairs have proven to be hugely successful in connecting people looking for work and training with those seeking staff or offering training and education.
“This time using the latest AI tools will bring an extra dimension to the event, helping young people use the latest technological tools to help them get ahead.
“I would urge any young person looking to get their first step on the career ladder, get into education or find training and apprenticeships to come along and see how they can get help making that step into their career.”
