Women-led activewear brand opens first store
With its all-female team Red Run Activewear launched its brand in Liverpool in 2020 and has enjoyed strong demand and is now opening its first store close to Liverpool waterfront. Tony McDonough reports
A new Liverpool activewear brand has chosen the city’s Royal Albert Dock to launch its first new retail store.
Having launched in 2020 during the COVID-19 lockdown, Red Run Activewear has enjoyed a successful first year. It has gained almost 12,000 followers on Instagram and is stocked in Tessuti in Liverpool ONE.
When its new collections are launched it enjoys strong demand, with the last capsule collection selling out in just 15 minutes. A team of women behind the brand comprises experienced designers and production managers with more than 15 years experience within the fashion industry.
Members of the team have worked in fashion capitals including London, Paris, Milan and New York. After identifying a gap in the market for sustainable women’s active streetwear, they wanted to offer stylish, comfortable clothing that is perfect for training, or for everyday wear to suit busy lifestyles.
The fabrics are carefully sourced with a priority on sustainably manufactured, premium fabrics, resulting in long-lasting, luxurious and thick activewear which lets the skin breath and keep cool throughout training.
Red Run’s range includes everything from wool beanies and 100% organic cotton caps, to a short waterproof jacket made from 100% recycled nylon, and a 2-in-1 reversible body warmer from its Parisian Night collection.
The Royal Albert Dock shop will be the brand’s first retail store, located on The Colonnades. To coincide with the opening, Red Run Activewear will be launching the new, highly anticipated Amethyst collection on Friday, November 26, online and in-store.
