Construction work starts on a £3m industrial / logistics scheme on the outskirts of Liverpool that will offer 10 industrial units. Tony McDonough reports

Work is under way on a £3m industrial / logistics scheme on the outskirts of Liverpool.

North End Developments has started construction on phase two of Charnock Point. Phase one saw eight units built at Charnock Road in Aintree. Phase two will see another 10 units totalling more than 16,000 sq ft.

Units are being built in two terraces, ranging in size from 1,485 sq ft to 1,969 sq ft and can be taken individually or in combination. Targeted at SMEs the units are available to lease or buy and are expected to be completed by the end of September 2024.

This project is located minutes from The East Lancs Road, accessed via Stopgate Lane / Long Lane in what is an established industrial location.

There is already a a strong trade counter occupational base which benefits from close links to the city centre, Aintree and wider industrial market serving Liverpool city region.

Demand for industrial and logistics space is high across the North West and is being boosted in Merseyside by the Liverpool City Region Freeport which went live in January 2023.

Joint agents on the scheme are LM6 and Keppie Massie. Anthony O’Keefe, director at LM6, said: “This scheme is built to the highest specification and given the quality of the build and location we expect keen occupational demand.

“The build is already well progressed with steels up and roofing works almost complete and the units offer an attractive proposition to industrial/trade counter occupiers and a rare opportunity to buy.”
