Developer starts construction work on £70m residential scheme just outside Liverpool city centre. Tony McDonough reports
Sourced Development Group has started construction of a £70m residential project close to Liverpool city centre.
Scholars Court, close to Scotland Road, straddles across Blackstock Street and Paul Street. It will comprise 310 apartments. Sourced secured planning consent for the scheme in 2022.
This is the fourth development by the group in less than five years. This latest project is being built on a previously derelict site.
It will also include landscaped garden areas, a centralised courtyard, podium parking facilities, in situ concierge facilities and secure cycle storage. Work is expected to be completed by June 2025.
It will add to the developer’s growing property portfolio. Derby Court in West Derby Road is now fully occupied and phase one of its £100m Westminster Park project has been completed three months ahead of schedule.
Joanne Waller, managing director of Sourced Development Group, said: “We have worked meticulously with our architects, planners and wider professional team to design a scheme which Liverpool can be proud of.
“Scholar’s Court will blend an exciting mix of urban and premium living whilst recognising the part it is playing in bringing to life a strategic site on the edge of the city centre.

“This project is just a stone’s throw away from our 614-unit development, Westminster Park. We are immensely proud to change the landscape in one of Liverpool’s key regeneration zones and provide much-needed, quality homes for the community.”
