YPG’s £6.5m project, designed by architects Smith & McHugh, will comprise of 94 self-contained student studios, ground floor retail space, a student management office, cycle storage and laundry facilities. Over half of the available studios have already been sold off plan to investors.
Newly released CGIs show how the studios will look once complete, including the internal layout of the studios and interiors.
Located next to Liverpool University’s north campus, Royal Liverpool University Hospital and Lime Street Station, the planning permission for the development was granted in July 2015 and is due for completion in July 2017.
Jonathan Yu, managing director of YPG, says:
“We’re happy to announce construction work has now started on site to transform the Salters Building in Liverpool in to Pembroke Studios, a high quality student accommodation in the heart of the city’s Knowledge Quarter. With significant ongoing investment in the area including LJMU’s Copperas Hill development, the studios are ideally situated for students looking for modern, high-spec accommodation in the city centre.
“With over half of the studios sold off plan already, we expect even more interest as the building takes shape and our plans come to fruition.”
