YBnews attended the launch of Liverpool’s trendy new Chinese restaurant Chy, where Leon and June from Channel 4’s Gogglebox celebrated Leon’s 80th birthday in the company of Hollyoaks cast members, as well as a host of other entertainers and even Chinese dragons!

Stars of the soap, including Jorgie Porter, Gemma Merna and Stephanie Davis, presented the couple with a birthday cake as VIP guests helped celebrate the reality TV man’s special occasion.

Leon, who has become a cult figure on the Channel 4 series, partied with the Hollyoaks girls as Liverpool’s movers and shakers gathered at the swanky venue. Other guests at the bash included Shameless’ star Tina Malone and female Olympic boxer Tasha Jonas.

Adam Wan of Chy Liverpool said:

“Leon clearly enjoyed his night on the tiles with Liverpool’s glitterati. It got quite emotional when everyone in the venue joined in to sing ‘Happy Birthday’.”

The restaurant served up a luxury banquet and guests enjoyed drinks and entertainment throughout the evening.

Chy already run a restaurant in South Liverpool’s popular Lark Lane. The new establishment is located at 5-9 Renshaw Street, Liverpool L1 2SA.
