30 students sign up for industry-led professional courses at St Helens Chamber
Young people in St Helens Chamber will go on to study international trade, marketing and sales, and AAT accountancy in fast-track industry-led professional courses.
Introduced last year, these courses for 16 to 18 year-olds combine relevant qualifications with hands-on industry experience and, following the success of last year’s offering, have seen intake triple for 2014.
Enhancing career prospects, the programmes sharpen up the skills of students who have demonstrated ability and interest in these professional areas. An opportunity to experience an international study trip is also included in the course offering.
Successful course completers will earn an Advanced Apprenticeship with a local company, with superb long-term career prospects as a result.
Martin Foulkes, of the St Helens Chamber, said:
“It’s great to see so many more students opting to take part in these programmes.
“The intensive nature of these new courses makes them very challenging, as they fit a lot into a few months.”
