Take the leap of a lifetime this summer!
A charity that empowers communities through literature is encouraging the public to ‘take the plunge’ with a 150ft bungee jump this summer to raise vital funds that will benefit future generations.
The Reader Organisation, a national charity based at Calderstones Mansion House, Liverpool, is bringing ‘Bungee Fest’ to Calderstones Park, in a bid to stretch the minds…and bodies, of the UKs daredevils.
Taking place across the weekend of August 8th and 9th, ‘Bungee Fest’ is bringing Calderstones Park to life with live music, craft stalls, refreshments and the enthusiasm of thrill-seekers, whose donations will provide crucial funding for The Reader Organisation.
A bungee jump of this scale is the first of its kind in Liverpool and has already attracted a lot of attention from city residents as well as regionally and even nationally.
Jane Davies, director of The Reader Organisation, said:
“I’m delighted to see that people are quite literally, ‘jumping at the opportunity’ to take part in our 150ft bungee and I admire their nerves of steel!
“We’re currently in the process of restoring Calderstones Mansion House, to its full-glory, and transforming it into an international flagship project for shared reading. All proceeds from ‘Bungee Fest’ will equip our organisation with the resources to improve wellbeing and extend the pleasure of reading for all.
“If you’ve got a friend, or if you think you’re up to the challenge, jump on the bandwagon and assist our organisation with your bravery. An opportunity of this scale has never visited Liverpool before and one person’s leap of a lifetime will benefit generations to come!”
Tickets for the bungee jump cost £80 and are inclusive of admission fee and a donation to The Reader Organisation. Participants will also receive a congratulatory goody bag.
