Organisers say Southport Oktoberfest will be biggest and best yet

Oktoberfest is the world’s largest beer and folk festival. It originated in Munich in the 1800s and is now a popular celebration across the rest of Europe, with events taking place from mid-September to early October.

This year, Southport Oktoberfest will be hosted in a luxurious, spacious marquee at Victoria Park, transforming the town into a Bavarian wonderland.

Offering lively oompah bands, DJ’s, performers and authentic German food, the programme spans the entire weekend.

Guests can sip on steins, dance to the infectious beats of the Bavarian Stompers, and even enjoy the chance to win a year’s supply of beer.

Southport Oktoberfest organiser and Elite Events owner Mark Dilley said: “This is going to be the biggest and best Oktoberfest that has ever been seen in Southport.

“It is going to be a non-stop party with lots of great live music and entertainment throughout.

“Visitors can enjoy delicious bratwurst and currywurst sausages from Chris Stead, owner of The Southport Meat Company, who was recently awarded second place in the prestigious UK National Sausage Championships. The bratwursts are going to be good.

“We will also be serving a range of wine, prosecco, cider, spirits and 0% drinks.”

Southport Oktoberfest runs from Friday, 24 to Saturday, 25 October 2025 in Victoria Park – it’s the ultimate celebration of Bavarian culture right in the heart of Southport.
