Wirral women’s fashion manufacturer and distributor Jolanka says it is looking to expand its UK operations amid a “positive year” for sales and profits.

Based in Rock Ferry, where it has its administrative headquarters and distribution hub, Jolanka (UK) produces ready-made ladieswear and fashion apparel to major global fashion brands, high-street retailers, and wholesale markets in the UK and Europe.

A separate Jolanka entity based in Sri Lanka employs around 2,500 people at four factories making the products. These are then shipped to the UK where they are distributed from the Wirral base.

Jolanka (UK), whose principal shareholders are Joseph Amirthalingam and Katie Amirthalingam, has filed its accounts for the 12 months to October 31, 2025, on Companies House.

They reveal a slight dip in revenues, to £16.2m from £16.6m in the previous year, but an almost 30% rise in pre-tax profits to £447,944. Net assets increased from £3.8m to £4.1m over the 12-month period.

In Sri Lanka, Jolanka’s 30 production lines have a capacity to produce 800,000 products each month and the company boasts a turnaround of 10m hanging garments a year.

He added: “The year has been positive from a sales and profit perspective compared to the previous year during what continues to be challenging circumstances for the retail sector.
