Backed by Home Bargains billionaire Tom Morris, developer Davos has pushed on with multiple Liverpool projects – including the £1.2bn Kings skyscraper cluster – and now another scheme is being lined up. Tony McDonough reports

There seems to be no end in sight to the ambitions of Liverpool developer Davos Property Developments.

Backed by Home Bargains billionaire Tom Morris, Davos has brought forward multiple residential-led projects in the city centre and south Liverpool, including the £1.2bn Kings development, a spectacular cluster of skyscrapers close to the waterfront.

Now Davos is teaming up with Brickland to target another site on the southern edge of Liverpool city centre. They have applied for planning consent to demolish buildings on the former Norton scrapyard on the corner of Parliament Street and Chaloner Street.

This 1.94-acre plot, close to the fast-growing Baltic Triangle district, offers a prime location for what is likely to be another residential-led scheme.

“There are some small buildings related to the site’s former use as a scrap yard that need clearing, together with hard standing. In addition, there will be some work to retaining walls in readiness for future development,” said Darren Leary, chief operating officer of Brickland.

If consented, the demolition contract would take approximately 26 weeks to execute, with a target start date on site of the second quarter of 2027. A separate submission, to cover the proposed development of the site, can be expected in the autumn

Brownfield Solutions have provided environmental and remediation advice, with Cundall advising on structural and civil engineering issues. Planning advice has been provided by Savills.
