Liverpool solicitors Morecrofts will draw on one of Hollyoaks’ most compelling story lines when it hosts its first domestic violence conference later this month.

On Wednesday, April 29th Morecrofts will discuss the ripple effect of domestic violence on family, friends, work and every day life with the help of expert speakers from regional police, charities, legal professionals and broadcasters.

Actress Nikki Sanderson, whose Hollyoaks character Maxine has endured a hard-hitting domestic abuse storyline, will join the panel to take part in an open Q&A session with Lime Pictures’ researcher Charlotte Pattullo. The Q&A will highlight the preparation involved in the storyline and the impact it has had on viewers.

The speaker line up includes Jane Kennedy, Merseyside Police and Crime Commissioner; Julie Knowles, assistant director of safeguarding at Alder Hey Hospital; Ayla and Jacqui Nasuh, founders of Merseyside Domestic Violence Service; and Abby Ogier, regional lead for domestic abuse at Banardo’s.
