A second wave of musical acts has been announced today for the upcoming ECHO Arena refugee fundraiser, with two well-loved groups joining the already stellar line-up.
City-favourites The Christians and MOBO award-winners MiC Lowry will be joining John Bishop, Janice Long, OMD, Sense of Sound, The Farm and many other great acts for a night of music, laughter and of course, fundraising. All profits from the event will go to the British Red Cross to support them in their ongoing efforts to aid war refugees. Further high profile performance announcements will follow in the coming days.
Rising stars MiC Lowry will be playing at the charity concert. The popular five-piece Rnb-pop group have had a great summer, performing at Glastonbury and releasing a single with grime godfather, Wiley. With their authentic vocal talent and innovative covers of pop classics, the young Liverpool-born band are on their way to great things.
Akai Jones from MiC Lowry, said:
“Liverpool audiences are the very best – we know that all too well. We’re made up to get an opportunity to get on stage, perform and help raise funds for the refugee crisis. Yet again, Liverpool has stepped forward and showed the rest of the world what we stand for – we’re proud to be part of it all. We’re looking forward to performing alongside the rest of the acts and seeing our fans turn out to make it a night MiC Lowry won’t forget in a hurry.”
Lead singer of The Christians, Garry Christian, said:
“The Christians were thrilled to jump on board ‘With Love From Liverpool’. It’s time we all did absolutely anything within our power to help this appalling refugee situation. Like the words in our song ‘Ideal World’ say ‘This ain’t no way to treat mankind.’”
Joe Anderson, Mayor or Liverpool, said:
“Tickets for the show are selling extremely well and we’re delighted that we now have three more reasons for people to come and enjoy the concert. The support we have received from the people of Liverpool, businesses and the Media has been nothing short of exceptional. Thank you to everyone who is supporting the concert and helping Liverpool lead the way in showing that we care. Watch out for even more exciting announcements in the run up to the show.”
