Rosaria realises dream ambition in completing trio of Club ventures
Restaurateur Rosaria Crolla has revealed it was her dream ambition in business to launch three business ventures as part of one group when she opened The Italian Club almost 10 years ago.
And now the proud Scottish Italian who moved to Liverpool from Glasgow via her native Picinisco near Rome more than 15 years ago, has realised her dream as The Italian Club Bakery opens it’s doors today.
Rosaria, who since arriving in Liverpool also met her business partner and real life partner Maurizio Pelligrini said:
“Since we began, we’ve always wanted a café bar & restaurant devoted to Italian cuisine, another more formal version of a traditional Scottish Italian café dedicated to a fish-inspired menu plus a retail-led bakery.
“After winning several awards for The Italian Club including a Top 10 slot in foodie bible Olive Magazine’s Best UK Italian Restaurants, its spurred us on to open The Italian Club Fish.
“We won awards for Fish too and then set about launching our concept of an Italian bakery, previously unseen in the city.”
Rosaria maintained that she was inspired not only by the now well-chronicled family history in the business but also numerous restaurateurs operating across Liverpool’s burgeoning restaurant and café bar scene plus her own restaurant customers’ requests.
“I was losing count every week, how many people having coffee, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner with us in one of our restaurants kept asking when are we going to open our own bakery!?
“Commercially, our pro-active research into the market plus the level of enquiries we’ve been getting from restaurant operators has encouraged to launch The Italian Club Bakery this week.
“It’s been a long time in planning and we’ll be focusing especially on celebration cakes, Millefoglie with its thousand layer pastry and the finest breads…all produced of course with love and Italian style baking.”
The Italian Club Bakery can be found at 22 Newington Street, Liverpool L1 4ED.
