Liverpool Vision Annual Review reveals year of positive
Liverpool Vision, the Mayor of Liverpool’s economic development company, helped to create 1,131 jobs and attracted £90.8 million in private sector investment in the last 12 months.
The company’s 2015/16 Annual Review, which has just been published, also highlights the significant role it played in maintaining Liverpool City Region’s position as a top 5 UK destination for tourist and conferences, helping to attract millions of visitors to the City Region.
This includes international media profile worth £4.1 million and £1.2 million of income for hotels, venues and attractions, including conferences such as Explore GB and the Labour Party Conference.
The International Festival for Business 2016 has built on its reputation as an event of global scale and significance, securing world-class events, speakers and sponsors, amongst them HSBC, BT and Google.
With IFB16 just weeks away, Liverpool Vision has confirmed 80 international events have been secured and are anticipated to deliver over 30,000 delegates to the festival, up to 40 percent of which are expected to be from outside the UK.
The company, chaired by Mayor Joe Anderson OBE, exceeded its targets for the financial year 2015/16.
