Creative Kitchen returns with inspirational autumn line-up
Following a summer break, Creative Kitchen is set to return with a series of events supporting the region’s digital and tech community.
The Autumn schedule gets underway with Developer Breakfast on September 15th at 92 Degrees Coffee. Developers, creatives, designers and technically-minded entrepreneurs will come together for a morning of coffee and in-depth conversation covering all things code and digital development.
Following this, the ever popular Made Here events return on October 6th, this time to a new venue in the Old Hall at The Cotton Exchange and is supported by Bruntwood.
The line-up includes Amanda Follit, Amaze; Clare Rogerson, Liverpool John Lennon Airport; and Debbie Edwards, F-Disruptor. All will be talking about their individual journey in digital and tech and challenges they have faced whilst developing their respective careers.
The evening aims to positively encourage more women to get involved in the digital and technology sector.
Gavin Sherratt, curator of Creative Kitchen and managing director of digital agency Mashbo commented:
“As Creative Kitchen grows we are increasingly focused on supporting issues that affect our sector, such as the skills and gender gap. We hope that October’s Made Here event will go some way to inspiring new generations of female developers, we need more role models like Amanda, Clare and Debbie to talk about and highlight opportunities for young women. The digital and tech industry is currently very male-heavy and we need work on creating some balance.”
Amanda Follit, Head of Digital Operations Services at Amaze, says she looks forward to being part of the upcoming Made Here event:
“I’m really looking forward to speaking at Creative Kitchen’s Women in Tech event. We’re experiencing a gender gap in the world of digital and tech, which is highlighted by the lack of young women who are coming through to fill the roles. I hope that by sharing my story I can encourage some of these women and show them that a role in tech is completely achievable, regardless of gender.”
