Soul Fillers will provide training and healthy food

A new catering venture in Liverpool is being set up to promote healthy eating and offer training opportunities to people with physical and mental health issues.

Soul Fillers will be launched at a special event called FRESH later this month at Camp & Furnace in the Baltic Triangle which will include delicious food and live music.

The venture is a collaboration between Liverpool-based organisation Moving On With Life & Learning (MOWLL) and acclaimed chef Sky Glover, winner of Young Entrepreneur for Women in Business and CEO of Community Interest Company ‘Happy Go Cooking’.

MOWLL has been providing local people with opportunities for personal and professional development for almost 20 years.

The two first started working together a year ago with Happy-go-Cooking providing training courses for MOWLL, focusing on sharing practical culinary skills and promoting healthy eating on a budget.

The project has gone from strength to strength and become so popular that participants and Sky are setting up Soul Fillers, a fully-fledged catering operation, which has already started winning jobs.

It will have strong social objectives and provide training and employment opportunities for people with disabilities as well as creating “knock-out dishes” such as roast cauliflower and chickpea salad with tahini and pomegranate dressing

People attending the Soul Fillers FRESH launch on November 28 will be able to sample the food. For tickets for the launch click here.
