As part of its efforts to support those affected, Bebington Glazing is currently working alongside five local businesses to repair and restore their shop fronts and broken glass.
A Wirral business owner has commended local businesses and residents for joining forces in the wake of last month’s explosion in New Ferry.
Kay Finlay, managing director of Bebington Glazing, said that the community spirit and drive to move forward had been “overwhelming” since the blast, which saw New Ferry’s high street severely damaged.
Kay said: “The explosion has not only impacted several local businesses but also a significant number of homeowners just across the road from our offices.
“Unfortunately, the impact of the incident means that there are still residents who are unable to access their homes or re-open their businesses because the damage is so severe.
“Despite what’s happened, it’s been wonderful to see so many locals join forces to help and to support one another.
“As part of a long list of inspiring efforts from within the community, initiatives such as fundraising group have been put in to place and those in need have already welcomed many donations.
“Although we’re still trying to process what’s happened, we hope that moving forward, New Ferry comes back stronger than ever and begins to move towards its regeneration as we rebuild our community.”
Sue Evans, Owner of Baxter’s Meats said: “Although New Ferry’s recent explosion was disastrous for many local businesses and residents, it’s certainly heart-warming to see such a diverse group of people come together to support one another.”
