Some of the city’s most recognisable bikes have taken a trip of their own – all the way to the Houses of Parliament.
Bike & Go, the country’s only national bike hire scheme, shipped 20 of its distinctive red bikes to London for use by MPs, peers, and others with a keen cycling interest who were taking part in a bike ride from the Dutch Embassy to Westminster.
The event, which took in some of the city’s most iconic landmarks against the backdrop of glorious sunshine, was staged to promote Bike Week, which took place from 13-21 June.
Bike & Go Director Kaj Mook said:
“If the weather’s nice or the mood takes you, there’s no better way to reach your final destination than by bike. Cycling is quick, convenient and fun, and we’d encourage everyone to jump on a bike – either their own or one hired from their nearest participating train station – and make the most of Bike Week this year.”
