Coleen Rooney to expand her range of nutrition products with Liverpool city region-based Applied Nutrition and will invest further in the company. Tony McDonough reports
Coleen Rooney is to strengthen her relationship with Merseyside sports nutrition venture Applied Nutrition and further invest in the business.
Early in 2024 Coleen, the wife of former Everton, Manchester United and England Wayne Rooney, began working with Knowsley-based Applied Nutrition (AN) on her range of five health and wellness products.
These have proved successful for AN and in March 2025 the company announced a deal with leading health retailer Holland & Barrett to sell the Coleen Rooney vitamins range in 500 stores.
Operating from a 100,000 sq ft manufacturing facility in Knowsley, Applied Nutrition produces a range of pre-work out supplements, protein powders, vitamins, protein waters and other wellness and fitness products.
Founded in 2014 by Kirkby-born Tom Ryder, in late October 2024 the firm entered the London Stock Exchange in a £350m flotation. In November 2025 it revealed it had broken through the £100m revenue barrier for the first time.
Coleen invested in the initial flotation and has now “significantly” increased her shareholding in the business, although has not revealed by how much.
“Nutrition and supplements have always been an important part of my fitness regime and had included Applied Nutrition products for many years before having the opportunity to create my own range,” she said.
“I am delighted with the range we have created together and look forward to expanding the range further.

“Alongside being an ambassador for the business, I had the opportunity to invest in the company and couldn’t be happier with my decision as the business continues to grow. I am excited about the future of the company.”
Thomas Ryder added: “Coleen embodies everything we are about – focus, passion for wellness and a commitment to the journey, as illustrated by her increasing her shareholding.”
