Fans of Everton FC will soon be able to buy ‘digitally wearable shirts’ thanks to a new commercial partnership with Fancurve. Tony McDonough reports
Everton FC has struck a new commercial partnership with Fancurve to offer digitally wearable shirts to its supporters.
This deal will see the US-based digital sports fashion platform introduce Blues’ fans to officially licensed, non-replica club-branded shirts. They are “photo-realistic custom collections” designed by 3D fashion designers.
The shorts use themes from the club’s identity and values as an inspiration. Fancurve will develop a series of ‘high-end’ digital shirts as fashion wearables and media content to enable a hyper-immersive online fan experience.
The initial Everton-themed collection will be available later this year and be sold exclusively on the Fancurve platform, at www.fancurve.com.
Chris Cook at Fancurve said: “Here at Fancurve, we’re focused on updating the meaning of sports fandom for today’s digital world and redefining what it will become in the future.
“We are striving to be the largest and most innovative digital wearables platform for sports fans across the globe. We see this partnership as one that can help Everton and its community grow, as we explore web3 football fandom together.”
Richard Kenyon, chief commercial and communications officer at Everton, added: “We’re really pleased to welcome Fancurve to our growing partnership portfolio. We are excited by the innovative opportunities that this partnership will present for the club and our supporters.”
