Specialist Liverpool city region glazing firm RED Systems set to hit record revenues of £17m as it marks 20 years in business. Tony McDonough reports
Wirral glazing firm RED Systems says it is on course for record annual revenues of £17m as it marks 20 years in business.
RED was founded by current managing director Michael Green in 2003 and secured its first order via fax. Now with offices in Neston and London, the business is now a supplier to most of the UK’s leading construction firms.
It provides high-specification glazing products for major developments. And, in the past three years, RED has gained a foothold in the modern methods of construction (MMC) market, working with modular homes specialist FP McCann.
This partnership has allowed RED to install windows off-site, enabling faster build times and increased efficiencies across the board.
Michael said: “Since taking our first order by fax 20 years ago, we have remained focused on providing excellence in terms of customer service. We have invested heavily in ongoing innovation and the development of our team.
“Our ethos is to ‘create lifetime customers through service delivery excellence’ and we couldn’t do this without our incredible team.
“Marking our 20th Anniversary has also given us the chance to reflect on our key achievements over the years and the clients, colleagues and mentors who helped us on our journey.”
Michael adds the firm has a “buoyant forward order book” with several major projects in the pipeline. The £17m turnover figure will be 37% ahead of the £12.4m reported last year.
It has also invested in digital technology to improve safety in on-site operations and enhance product quality.

“Here at RED, we have channelled a considerable amount of resources into enhanced CPD (continuing professional development) provision around the Building Safety Act,” he explained.
“WE are committed to ongoing digital transformation in terms of managing quality, safety, and customer care.
“The construction industry is an ever-changing landscape, so whether you have been established for 20, 40 or 100 years, developing is all about adapting, learning, and reacting to market conditions.”
