Leep, which currently manages utilities at MediaCityUK in Salford and Wood Wharf, London, has struck a deal with project owner Peel Land & Property. Tony McDonough reports
Peel Land & Property has agreed a deal for Leep Utilities to take over the electricity network at its £5bn Liverpool Waters development.
A number of new residential developments are currently being built at Princes Dock, close to the Pier Head, and further along in Central Docks, with a number of new projects, including Everton FC’s new £500m stadium, in the pipeline.
Progress at Liverpool Waters has increased the load requirements to support the next phases of the project and the capacity will more than triple from the current levels. Leep has been appointed to own and operate the new network which will allow Liverpool Waters to secure capacity for the future phases of development.
Leep is a multi-utility network owner and operator that has a track record of managing electricity, gas and water networks on new developments, with existing sites at MediaCityUK in Salford and Wood Wharf, London.
