Sportswear brand Under Armour has opened its new 3,000 sq ft outlet at Liverpool ONE with the help of Liverpool FC full-back Trent Alexander-Arnold.
First announced in August 2022, the Under Armour ‘Brand House’ is located in South John Street. It stocks the brand’s performance sportswear, footwear and accessories. The business was founded with a single shirt in 1996.
The launch event also saw football presenter Josh Denzel host a store Q&A session with Trent and youth football athletes from Tiber Football Centre.
They posed a series of questions to Trent who then signed their Under Armour products. Tiber Football Centre hosts an academy that Trent and Liverpool FC support, helping young footballers achieve their goals.
“I’ve been incredibly fortunate to play for my boyhood club throughout my career,” said Trent. “For that reason, there’s nothing I enjoy more than giving back to the community.
“As an Under Armour athlete, I’m able to do just that. I’m really keen to help more young people from the area get into sport.”
In late February it was revealed Global activewear and lifestyle brand, Sweaty Betty will open its largest store in the north of England at Liverpool ONE this summer.
Opening on Peter’s Lane in June, Sweaty Betty will occupy a 2,600 sq ft unit. It will sell the brand’s range of women’s clothing, including leggings, outerwear and underwear, as well as accessories, made from responsibly sourced materials and recycled bottles.
The store’s design will be a new concept for the brand and join Sweaty Betty’s growing, global presence in countries such as the US, Ireland, Germany, Hong Kong, Singapore and Canada.
