Based in Widnes Your Baby Scan was opened by husband and wife team, Kurt and Danielle Farrar in 2015 and is to launch a new live streaming service. Tony McDonough reports

A Liverpool city region business is launching what it claims will be the UK’s first live-streaming baby scan service.

Your Baby Scan in Widnes opened its doors in 2015 and was set up by local husband and wife team, Kurt and Danielle Farrar. Their business has been busier than ever in the past few months due to the importance of being able to scan pregnant mums-to-be in a COVID-safe environment. 

The service has proved invaluable for new parents across the North West, especially first time mums, because partners and now dependants are allowed to come into the scan room. A number of COVID-secure measures are in place, including temperature checks for each member of the family.

A variety of services are offered by Your Baby Scan such as reassurance scans, dating, gender and bonding scans. Expectant parents are also able to view all the photographs taken during the scan privately and pick them at ease. 

Their sonographers are also all fully qualified and the, service they provide, along with the exclusivity, gifts/extras, has led them to becoming a celebrity go-to for private scans. Dr Hanna Kinsella recently visited them for her Scan which was aired on the Real Housewives Of Cheshire.

In February, Your Baby Scan will launch a new live streaming service which its says isn’t available anywhere else in the UK at the moment. It will allow couples to share the first baby scan, or do a gender reveal with loved ones who can’t be there in person or are perhaps living abroad or shielding. 

Danielle said: “Before COVID-19 we could have 20 people in the clinic to share the scan experience. Two, three and even four generations of families gathering together to experience their first look at their new addition.

“Since COVID-19 we have had to restrict numbers and think outside of the box, and with Your Baby Scan Live, this gives access to the scan not only to local family and friends but worldwide from the comfort and safety of their own home.” 

Kurt’s background is in IT which has resulted in the business having a number of bespoke features and systems that aren’t commercially available anywhere else. Danielle’s background is in customer service, something that Your Baby Scan is renowned for. The rest of the team offer skills in medical ultrasound, administration, technology.
