Baltic Creative businesses launch crowdfunding marketplace
Crowdfunding consultancy Juxdit and web design studio Kitsune, both based out of Liverpool’s Baltic Creative, are launching Europe’s first online crowdfunding marketplace.
Taking shared premises, the two companies are working to create a website to stock and sell products that have developed through successful crowdfunding campaigns, and are all set to launch in June 2015.
Kitsune will work with Juxdit to design the site after the two companies came together at a workshop hosted by Baltic Creative resident Apposing.
The brainchild of entrepreneur Annie O’Toole, Juxdit was founded in late 2014 and offers crowdfunding consultancy services for people looking to start up a business or product idea; allowing them to more easily develop their crowdfunding ideas and goals.
Clients can purchase pre-campaign packages, including the development of a campaign strategy, expertise in marketing, PR, branding, and public engagement. Post-campaign packages, meanwhile, help clients capitalise on successful crowdfunding strategies.
Annie O’Toole said:
“I had that lightbulb moment where I thought ‘where do all these products go?’ and from there decided to set up the e-commerce site. We’ll be the first in Europe, and the site is going to take Juxdit to the next level.
“Baltic Creative has been instrumental in assisting our business growth. I’ve come from having an idea and hot-desking here in the campus, to growing the JUXDIT team enough to take on our own business premises here.
“If you’ve got a great idea and you’re willing to put the hours into making it happen, then you have every chance to be successful. “
Michael Braithwaite, creative director at Kitsune, added:
“It’s not often you work in such close quarters with a client and I believe the experience will prove invaluable in developing and launching a successful product.
Juxdit will be hosting an event in Baltic Creative’s Creative Space on 19 March called How To Set Up An Incredible Crowdfunding Campaign: click here for tickets or more information.
