Bruntwood trio say “merci” after epic Paris cycle

Three of Bruntwood’s Liverpool team completed the London to Paris cycle challenge dressed as chickens in aid of Claire House children’s hospice.

Colin Sinclair, Colin Forshaw and Matt Lee vowed to don the costumes on the final leg if they surpassed their fundraising target and they duly obliged after raising in excess of £13,000 for the charity.

The gruelling 350-mile trip was not without incident as the trio endured crashes, broken bicycles, strong winds and high temperatures, but they reached the Eiffel Tower on Saturday relatively unscathed, if a little “roasted”.

Speaking on behalf of the group, Matt Lee said:

“We want to thank everyone who has shelled out or given us eggstra help on the road to Paris, all in aid of an incredibly important cause.

“It was great fun being part of a group of 360 cyclists and the odd mishap along the way just added to the adventure.

“The final day was great fun but very hot as we cycled through towns and villages and finally into Paris dressed as chickens. By the time we arrived at the Eiffel Tower we were suitably roasted.”
