“We believe that the 3% increase in stamp duty will be a hot topic, taking into account the average house price in Liverpool which is £132,340, a landlord or second home buyer purchasing a property at this price, will go from paying £147 in stamp duty to £4,117 from April 2016, a difference of £3,970. Also those looking to purchase a flat at the average price in Liverpool of £117,719, will go from paying no stamp duty to £3,532.”
