Creative Kitchen serves up successful summer programme

Creative Kitchen, the event programme that aims to connect the creative and digital sector in Liverpool and the North West has enjoyed a successful summer season, with a hat-trick of packed out events since the beginning of June.

On June 4th, Creative Kitchen hosted the launch of ‘Open Device Lab’, set up by Liverpool-based agency Uniform as a means to allow designers and developers to test their digital products, websites, web apps and native apps; on a variety of different portable devices.

The following week saw the popular Developer’s Breakfast take place at 92 Degrees Coffee. More than 50 representatives of the city’s creative and digital sector gathered to share share experiences and vent constructively in an what organisers say is a concentrated effort to ‘build a community of developers, creatives, designers and technically-minded entrepreneurs in Liverpool’.

The final event this evening [July 9th] promises to be the icing on the cake, with more than 200 people registered to attend the Grow it! Protect it! event at Leaf on bold Street. In partnership with The Drum Network and Kin2Kin, the event has been designed to help agencies and freelancers to learn more about business development and the different ways to protect your creative and digital business.

Gavin Sherratt, managing director at Studio Mashbo and curator of the Creative Kitchen event programme said:

“Creative Kitchen events aim to continue to breakdown barriers and to encourage knowledge sharing, with the long-term goal of supporting the growth and development of the region’s creative and digital sector.

“We bring in guest speakers to pass on their experiences and inspire the emerging digital community. Each event takes place at local, independent venues. It’s our little way of supporting Liverpool’s finest cafes, coffee shops and creative spaces.”
