Developers to create 1.2m of warehouse and logistics space at North Liverpool site

Liverpool 57 will comprise 1.2m sq ft of warehouse and logistics units

Developers are to build 1.2m sq ft of warehouse and logistics units at a North Liverpool development site that had been earmarked Everton’s new stadium.

Now the Blues have instead chosen a site in the city’s north docklands it means an alternative plan for Stonebridge Cross, close to Croxteth and Fazakerley, can now go ahead.

The recent completion of the estate road combined with the existing planning consent leaves the site ready for immediate development.

The 55-acre site has detailed planning consent for 1.2m sq ft of warehouse and logistics accommodation.

Units will range in size from 86,000 sq ft to 1.1m sq ft. It is located near junction 4 of the M57.

First class

Dan Gallagher, joint managing director of Stoford, said: “Now that Everton FC has confirmed its plans, we are excited at the prospect of creating a first class industrial and logistics development at Liverpool 57.

“The project will generate significant inward investment to the city and provides businesses with design and build opportunities in an excellent location.

“We are excited at the opportunity to work alongside the council and play a key role in delivering its vision for the site.”

Strategic site

Mayor of Liverpool, Joe Anderson added: “This is a critical strategic site for the city’s logistics economy and will deliver hundreds of much-needed jobs..”

And Cllr Malcolm Kennedy, Liverpool City Council’s Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Chair of the Stonebridge Cross Stakeholder Group, also said: “The Stonebridge Cross site is the city council’s largest employment site so it is truly fantastic news that it is now ready to begin large scale development following the successful rerouting of the River Alt and the creation of Alt Meadows Park.”

Joint agents on the scheme are CBRE and Savills.
