That will be the message offered by leading experts in the field at an event in the city centre later this month.

On Wednesday, October 18, between 8.30am and 11am, the IoD in Liverpool will host ‘Tales from the frontline of digital disruption’.

Held at the offices of Tilney in the Royal Liver Building on the city’s waterfront, the event will feature “digital disruption” experts Laurie Benson (formerly of Bloomberg and CNN) and Ian Finch, Managing Director at Mando.

Hear how CNN went from being billed as the ‘Chicken Noodle Network’ to an international trailblazer of 24-hour news and why Bloomberg saw mobile communication as the future.

People will also hear how Liverpool city region punches above its weight in digital and new technologies, and how local businesses can benefit from these developments if they “think bigger” and “want more”.

It will also offer insight into rapidly evolving new technologies such as Chatbot and Artificial Intelligence.

The event will be followed by a Q&A session with the speakers giving audience members the opportunity to delve into the key issues raised in more depth.
