DV8 designs adds creative flare to Lancashire country pub Hare&Hounds
One of Clayton Le Moors’ most popular country pubs has undergone a major revamp courtesy of architecture and interior design firm DV8 Designs.
After being appointed by the acclaimed Thwaites pub company, the Warrington-based practise was responsible for the complete creative overhaul of the Hare & Hounds.
In order to transform the property into the modern day – whilst still holding onto its rustic charm – MD Lee Birchall and his team at DV8 carried out a series of interior modifications.
He said:
“It was great to be approached by Thwaites to carry out the pub overhaul. The objective was to create an authentic looking venue that combined home comforts with hints of modernistic appeal.
“We introduced calming colour palates consisting of neutrals and a splash of purple to accentuate the architectural structures and create a warm and welcoming space.
“As comfort was one of the key factors when it came to fulfilling the pub’s agenda, we added many booths, seating areas and decorative elements throughout the venue in order to heighten interest and provide cosiness.”
DV8 Designs, which was established in 2006, has attained high acclaim through its impressive and diverse portfolio that includes residential, bars, pubs, restaurants, hotels, leisure centres, swimming pools, spas, golf clubs and offices.
Lee added:
“The Hare & Hounds will remain a traditional country pub, as it is important for it to stay true to its roots and preserve its rural uniqueness. It’s hoped that the new design features will add a new lease of life into the property.”
