DV8 Designs appointed by the Mere Collection to align ‘creative repositioning’ of the Stanneylands

Headed by Managing Director Lee Birchall, DV8 Designs will be responsible for aligning the vision of the new ‘best of British dining destination with rooms’ concept. Andrew Wright reports.

Warrington based interior design and architecture firm DV8 Designs has been appointed by The Mere Collection to work alongside the management team on the redesign and refurbishment of The Stanneylands, in Wilmslow, Chesire.

As part of the refurbishment, a series of renovations will transform the country house into an boutique hideaway.

Design aspects include the introduction of The Tap & Pantry and The Grill, championing British classic food.

Lee said: “While The Stanneylands will take some inspiration from The Mere, given that it is the second property in the hospitality collection, the new Stanneylands will become renowned as a dining destination along with a special events venue.

“We have opted for an earthy colour scheme with splashes of mauve, purple and green hues throughout The Tap & Pantry and The Grill.

“In addition to the interiors, the outside gardens and woodland are also being restored. The scheme offers a rich and varied external area with lavender, yew tree hedges, a feature circular rotunda, topiary and planting borders exploding with all the colours of an English meadow.”

DV8 Designs’ portfolio includes residential, bars, pubs, restaurants, hotels, leisure centres, swimming pools, spas, golf clubs and offices.

Mark said: “As part of The Mere Collection, The Stanneylands brand aims to mirror the same established quality, whilst having its own distinctive personality and characteristics. We are very excited to have Lee and the team on board to help us to re-engineer the venue to deliver our vision.

“The Stanneylands is the perfect fit to spearhead our ambition to develop and grow The Mere Collection.”
