Liverpool John Moore University have joined force with engineering consultancy Beverley Clifton Morris (BCM) on a two and a half year knowledge transfer partnership (KTP).

The agreement is set to create two new jobs as a marketing strategy manager and BIM (M&E) quantity surveyor will eventually be appointed.

The partnership will also allow BCM, which specialises in low carbon building services design, access to innovative knowledge, technology and skills.

Brian Morris, BCM’s managing director, said:

“The KTP is a substantial part of our strategic expansion plans and will enable us to develop our skills and bring new cost saving services to the market.

“It will also assist us in identifying specific processes and operating practices that will keep us at the forefront of our industry.

“Having worked predominantly across the North West since forming in 2002, we now aim to expand our reach across the UK and are confident that this KTP will enable us to do so.”

Professor Mike Riley, director of LJMU’s school of the built environment at LJMU also commented:

“We are extremely pleased and excited to be working with BCM on these two projects. The school has a very high success rate with working in collaboration with industry and this KTP will add to this.

“We recognise the importance for the university to work in partnership with industry.

These two KTPs provide us the opportunity to engage in supporting the development of BCM in providing expertise within the area of low carbon building services and digital marketing.”
