Now in its third year, the Christmas extravaganza will feature ‘bumper’ programme of events including a visit from Santa and his real reindeers, elves and a Frozen sing-a-long show.

Wirral’s Fabulous Frost Fair is set to return this winter – finding a new home at Pacific Road Venue in Birkenhead.

Now in its third year, the Christmas extravaganza will take place from November 18 to 20 and will include a “bumper” programme of events including a visit from Santa and his real reindeers, elves and a Frozen sing-a-long show.

Demonstrations and workshops will include baking, flower arranging, story telling and gin tasting.

A host of local independent businesses will showcase hand-made jewellery, hand-crafted and personalised gifts,  clothing, and children’s toys.

The fair also features a Victorian street scene that will be bustling with fine foods, produce and the chance to pause and enjoy a festive tipple or two.

Fabulous Frost Fair was created by Wirral mums Tanya Leary, Soraya Corbett and Ali Marshall who met as schoolgirls at West Kirby Grammar School.

All three are passionate about Wirral’s community and entrepreneurial spirit, deciding to launch the event as a way to support local businesses at a key time for retail trade.

Ms Leary told YBNews: “Fabulous Frost Fair is a truly magical event where visitors of all ages can spend quality time  together ahead of the Christmas rush.

“There is nothing like it in the North West. An incredible selection of stalls and retailers, with imaginative workshops, fine foods and plenty of family-friendly entertainment will be bigger and better than ever before in 2016.

“We are so proud of the Fabulous Frost Fair and the way the event makes people unwind, connect and be immersed in the community spirit of Christmas.”

With more than 60 independent Wirral businesses involved, Fabulous Frost Fair will partner with Wirral Chamber of Commerce by moving the fair to Pacific Road, the former arts and heritage museum which now operates as a business hub and the home of the chamber.
