Families set to move into £1m Liverpool development 

Financed by Homes England, a £1m project to provide seven family homes in north Liverpool has been delivered by developer Mersey Regeneration to social landlord Onward Homes. Tony McDonough reports

Housing developer Mersey Regeneration has completed the handover of a £1m family homes scheme in north Liverpool to social housing landlord Onward Homes.

Financed by Homes England, the Fountains Close project in Kirkdale comprises seven, three-bedroom family homes.The first tenants of the are due to move in to the new properties in September.

Mersey Regeneration marked the handover with a ceremony attended by the Lord Mayor of Liverpool, Cllr Mary Rasmussen, Liverpool cabinet member for Development and Economy, Cllr Sarah Doyle, and cabinet member for Health and Social Care, Cllr Frazer Lake.

The business has delivered a series of small housing schemes in north Liverpool. The company has a number of further projects in the pipeline which are due to start later this year and will soon be expanding its operations to Wirral and Halton.

Co-founder and managing director, Gerard Heffey, said: “We are committed to providing decent, quality properties and I know that these houses are going to serve the community as fantastic family homes.

“We are extremely proud of this development and are grateful to the support we have received from Homes England. We are pleased that a number of senior city councillors were able to join us for the hand over.

“We have a number of projects in the pipeline and we’re now looking forward to getting started on those. Our ethos is to work with local traders and suppliers, on this development we have reached 83% local spend which is money that will go back into the community.”
