The remit for the 16th century Wirral based castle’s redevelopment aimed to maintain its ‘rich and colourful heritage’, whilst paying homage to the area’s resident rare bird breed, the oystercatcher.

A series of interior revamps has been carried out throughout the property’s 47 bedrooms, in-house restaurant Brasserie 1593 and Knights Cocktail Bar.

General Manager of Leasowe Castle Mike Dewey said: “Unlike the follies spanning across the North West, what sets Leasowe Castle apart is its authenticity and historic presence. To ensure that the property stays true to its roots, the new branding simply enhances what we are all about in an emotive and symbolic manner. For instance, the ‘so’ from our name is being used as part of the descriptive tone of voice when building a narrative across our marketing materials.

“As Wirral Peninsula is a spectacular melting pot of amazing vistas, incredible heritage and rare wild bird species, the branding also embodies the oystercatcher to set the tone of our enchanting nature rich, tranquil seafront setting.

“In addition to the new look branding, the castle’s interior has been transformed to create an inviting and accessible space for residents and those visiting for the day or night. Combining an earthy colour palate with exposed wood, multiple textures and a grand costal visage, each of the designated areas and rooms have their own distinctive characteristics and atmosphere. As part of the developments, our core focus will now put an increased emphasis on being a glorious destination for dining and drinking, private occasions and corporate events.”

The completion of the rebrand and refurbishment follows a series of on-going company developments since the castle was acquired by Bupa Gandhi in May 2015.

Bupa added: “After careful consideration, we have shaped a unique brand persona that talks directly to our guests whether they be staying with us, calling in for dinner, unwinding with after-work drinks, creating their very own fairy-tale wedding, hosting a corporate occasion with a difference or de-stressing with a round of golf. Our new holistic approach will certainly provide an experience that is so relaxing, so captivating and ultimately so memorable.

“It is a real joy to have witnessed ideas become reality and to now unveil them to the public. As a property that has stood proudly on the Wirral Peninsula since 1593, it was important that the branding and revamp complimented the castle’s lasting legacy that is so very known and respected on both a local and national scale.”
