A private jet with the capability of flying non-stop from Liverpool to New York has been on display at Liverpool John Lennon Airport (LJLA) for the first time.

XLR Executive Jet Centre, which last year opened an executive jet centre at LJLA, hosted an event to showcase the Gulfstream G280 super-midsize business jet aircraft to potential users.

The aircraft, with space for 10 passengers, has a range in excess of 4,000 miles with the capability of flying non-stop from the UK to New York and the event was the first time this aircraft type has visited the North West.

Cruising at 45,000 ft at a speed of 528mph, the Gulfstream G280 is a twin-engine business jet built under licence by IAI in Israel for Gulfstream Aerospace. It began delivery to users in 2012

XLR is the premium travel brand and subsidiary of Rigby Group.
