Mersey Maritime calls for industry input in naming the winners of this years Mersey Maritime Industry Awards

Mersey Maritime has now launched its industry voting platform for their fifth Maritime awards, allowing peopke from across the sector to vote for who they think the winners should be.

The voting platform is now live and Mersey Maritime are calling upon the local, national and international maritime industry to cast their votes for their chosen winners.

Finalists

The finalists for the 12 award categories were determined by 13 judges from across the industry who are experts in their field, including: Ben Murray – Director Maritime UK, Helen Kelly – Europe Editor-in-Chief Lloyds List, Professor Simon Quinn – Director of the Research Institute for Industry, University of Southampton and Camilla Carlbom-Flinn – Chairman, Carlbom Shipping. 

Mersey Maritime has worked with the finalists to produce short films aiming to bring their application to life and showcase their achievements and this year, in an industry first, companies, businesses, individuals, entrepreneurs and stakeholders from across the maritime industry are being invited to give their verdict on the finalists.

Voting Platform 

The voting platform will showcase films for each category, providing voters with an insight into each finalist before they cast their vote. 

The platform is accessible from midday on Tuesday, February 5, and will close on Friday 15th February. To cast your vote please click here.

Please refer to the voting rules to ensure your vote counts:

  • You must be able to provide a valid company name and email address (all responses are confidential in accordance with GDPR). 
  • You are not permitted to vote for your company if they are a finalist.
  • You are only permitted to vote once for each category.
  • Duplicate votes will not be counted.
  • Any votes cast after the deadline, midnight Friday, February 15, will not be counted.

Mersey Maritime’s Chief Executive, Chris Shirling-Rooke, said: “We are really excited to launch the first industry voting platform for the MMIAs. The awards have grown and evolved over the last five years and it feels right that we give the industry a voice and the ability to select their winners.

It also provides us with the opportunity to showcase and share the brilliant entrants for this year’s awards to a much wider audience, the awards really are a celebration of the achievements of maritime industry.” 

Mersey Maritime Industry Awards

The Mersey Maritime Awards will take place on Thursday 14th March at Liverpool’s Titanic Hotel and will host 450 guests from across the maritime sector across the Liverpool City Region and also nationally.
