They will be able to travel anywhere on the network to take part in remembrance services across the Liverpool city region on November 10
All service men and women as well as service veterans will be able to travel for free on the Merseyrail network on Remembrance Sunday (November 10).
They will be able to travel anywhere on the network to take part in remembrance services across the Liverpool city region. A service of remembrance and dedication will take place outside St George’s Hall in Liverpool city centre on Sunday with a digital wall of honour and a parade leaving from St George’s Plateau and marching through the city.
The closest stations to the service are Lime Street Lower Level from the Wirral line and Liverpool Central from the Northern line. To receive their free travel, veterans and armed forces personnel must present their Armed Forces ID, Veterans Badge with a photo ID or be dressed in their full uniform.
Andy Heath, managing director at Merseyrail, said: “Our armed forces have sacrificed so much for this country and it’s a pleasure to be able to show our support and gratitude by offering free travel this Sunday.
“Personnel and veterans will be able to attend one of the services across the city, or mark the occasion with family and friends and get there completely free of charge with Merseyrail.”
Regular services run throughout the Merseyrail network on Sundays from 68 stations across Merseyside.
