A free webinar will take place this month offering invaluable advice for Liverpool city region businesses looking to return to growth following the COVID-19 pandemic. Tony McDonough reports

Growth Platform, Liverpool city region’s growth company, is teaming up with accountancy firm BDO to offer a free webinar to help local firms bounce back from the pandemic.

Taking place on Thursday, July 15, the business resilience webinar will discuss the five key areas companies need to focus on to leverage the economy, kick start their recovery and gain back revenue that was lost during the pandemic.

It comes after a survey from Growth Platform showing 77% of businesses feel fatigued after a year of tough business-saving decision making due to the pandemic, with 43% also saying they would like to grow their company in 2021.

However, despite initial enthusiasm for growth among businesses across the region, 35% of survey respondents said they lack proper insight and data to help with forward planning.

The webinar will be hosted by BDO’s head of entrepreneurial business, Mark Sykes. Attendees will hear about some of the key emerging trends set to impact the future of business, as well expert insights on best practices and how to leverage them for the times ahead.

Mark said: “It’s been a really tough year for SME business leaders across the Liverpool city region and some uncertainty still remains, even as restrictions continue to ease and begin to come through the pandemic.

“This webinar with Growth Platform, and the overall work of its Business Resilience Programme, will give some clarity to leaders looking for advice on how to navigate for growth in a post-covid world. The webinar will take place at 9am on July 15 and includes a host of panellists including Growth Platform’s Peter Sandman and Lisa Ashby Dowling, along with Gavin Anderson, plus Draw and Code’s John Keefe and Andy Cooper.

The Growth Platform’s Business Resilience Programme provides small to medium-sized business across the Liverpool City Region with help and support through a series of workshops and insight tools that are needed in order to stabilise and grow.
