#HappyBirthdayLiverpool

Visitors are in for a treat this Friday, 28th August as Liverpool’s Tourist Information Centres (TICs) hand out birthday bargains to mark Liverpool’s 808th anniversary.

To celebrate the city receiving its Royal Charter in 1207, Liverpool’s three TICs are slashing prices on both merchandise and entrance fees to some top city attractions.

There are themed reductions on the gifts, with a selection of the best sellers such as mugs, pens and t-shirts going for £8.08 (the city’s age), china plates, teddy bears, a Power-bank mobile charger and even a City of Liverpool tie going for £12.07 (the date of the Charter) and the hugely popular ceramic Liver Birds and Superlambananas being sold for £28.08 (the birthday date itself) – a saving of more than five pounds.

Tickets for some of Liverpool’s top visitor attractions are also reduced and include £3 off the City Explorer Hop-On Hop-Off bus (now £6), £6 off the Liverpool Football Club Stadium Tour and Museum (now £11), £5 off The Beatles Cycle Tour (now £20) and £3 off the Shiverpool Hope Street Shivers Walk (now £11).

All offers are exclusive to the TICs at the Albert Dock (Anchor Courtyard), Lime Street Station (Platform 7) and Liverpool John Lennon Airport (Information Desk) on Friday 28 August only.

And on top of this, the Albert Dock centre will be handing out balloons to youngsters and the Liverpool Ukulele Orchestra will perform from 11am-2pm.

Assistant Mayor and Cabinet Member for culture, tourism and events, Councillor Wendy Simon, said:

“In Liverpool we’re hugely proud of our 808 year history and it’s wonderful that through our TICs everyone can enjoy a birthday treat.

“These centres are fantastic hubs of information which give guidance and advice to thousands of visitors every single year, helping them to make the most of their time in the city.

“I’m sure Friday’s discounted day will prove to be popular and we encourage everyone to spread the word on social media using the hashtag #HappyBirthdayLiverpool.”
