Three of Liverpool’s most historic venues – Liverpool Town Hall, St George’s Hall, and Croxteth Hall – unveil a programme of Christmas events. Tony McDonough reports

Three Liverpool’s most historic halls will offer a diverse programme of events in the run up to Christmas for families, music lovers, and even canine companions.
Liverpool Town Hall, St George’s Hall, and Croxteth Hall will be “brimming with festive cheer”. It forms part of Liverpool’s wider Christmas offer, which includes Christmas Markets outside St George’s Hall, running from Saturday, November 15, to Wednesday, December 24, 11am to 10pm each day.
More details about what residents and visitors can expect this festive season will be announced in the coming weeks.
Liverpool Town Hall will host Story Time with Santa where Father Christmas and Buddy the Elf share festive tales and songs. A sensory-friendly session will also be available. It runs on selected dates from Saturday, December 6, to Wednesday, December 24.
And the town hall will also welcome guests for two candlelight concerts in November and December, offering an elegant evening of seasonal music in a heritage setting.
On Sunday, December 5, and Sunday, November 2, St George’s Hall will host its seasonal Christmas market with more than 80 independent traders and local artisans offering a selection of art, crafts, homeware, and unique gifts. It will take place from 10am to 4.30pm.
Following last year’s sold-out success, St George’s Hall will once again welcome audiences on Wednesday, December 3, and Wednesday, December 10, for Carols by Lantern Light. This will feature Professor Ian Tracey, soloist Danielle Thomas, and a classical choir.
Silent Night: A Silent Disco Wonderland (over 18s only) returns on Saturday, December 6, with three channels with a playlist of dancefloor hits and festive visuals. Earlier that day, families can enjoy Disco Kids: The Ultimate Family Disco, a high-energy silent disco.

Croxteth Hall will once again welcome Santa Paws, a festive event for dogs and their owners. Set in a specially designed grotto, pets can meet Santa Paws, receive a gift and a treat, and pose for a seasonal photo.
Santa Paws runs on selected dates from Saturday, December 13, to Sunday, December 21, with bookable slots and walk-ins welcome.

“We’re delighted to bring it back this year with an additional date, giving even more people the chance to enjoy the magic of traditional live music in the breathtaking, candlelit surroundings of St George’s Hall.
“These events celebrate the richness of tradition while creating unforgettable moments for new generations, and we can’t wait to welcome everyone through the doors.”
