Support for local firms on Small Business Saturday from The Interesting Eating Company

An independent eatery recommended some of its favourite coffee shops, restaurants and stores from around Liverpool in order to celebrate Small Business Saturday last week.

Directors of The Interesting Eating Company on Allerton Road, Nichola Lee and Andrea Edwards, decided to name their top ten when it comes to places in Liverpool, that they believe should be in the spotlight.

In no particular order, the venues included Mogli, Monro, Bacaro, Barley and Beans, Voglio Gifts, Nolita Cantina, La Lunya, Clarkes Butchers, Espresso Plus and Attitude Barbers.

Nichola said:

“At The Interesting Eating Company we like to connect with local businesses to build up a community of independents that support and care for one another.

“Therefore, we wanted to get involved in Small Business Saturday by highlighting and giving applause to the venues that stand out from the crowd, due to their great offerings, service and originality.”

Established in 2012, The Interesting Eating Company prides itself as being one of Liverpool’s quirkiest eateries, which is passionate about good food.

Following the success of its original South Liverpool venue, in July 2014 the eatery joined forces with the JD Sports division, Ultimate Outdoors, to create the in-house coffee shop, Ultimate Café. Based in Deepdale Shopping Park in Preston, the site provides a quirky breakfast and light bites menu, barista style hot beverages and smoothies.

Andrea added:

“It gives us great pleasure to share our appreciation of the independents that hold synergy. Rather than negatively addressing competition, our ethos is to work together with competitors in order to help each other progress and develop in such a fast-paced ever expanding market.”
