Goldsmiths has opened a 13,000 sq ft store in Paradise Street in Liverpool ONE, twice the size of its previous outlet in the £1bn complex.

Part of the Watches of Switzerland Group, the brand has introduced its Goldsmiths Luxury (GS Luxury) concept to the city. The company says this represents a “significant investment” although hasn’t revealed a figure.

It offers a hospitality bar and lounge area, as well as VIP consultation rooms and specialist repair services. The showroom now spans two floors and features a dedicated entrance for the Rolex boutique.

The main showroom also features designated areas for well-known watch brands including Cartier, TUDOR, TAG Heuer and Zenith. This is as well as jewellery brands, FOPE, Messika, and Roberto Coin.

Goldsmiths joins a number of retail names that have grown bigger in Liverpool ONE, including BOSS’ relocation and 130% upsize earlier this year, and Hollister’s upsize and relocation to introduce its sister brand, Gilly Hicks.

Craig Bolton, president of the Watches of Switzerland Group, UK, and Europe, said: “We are pleased to announce the expansion and opening of the new Goldsmiths Liverpool. This is now the largest showroom within our Goldsmiths portfolio.

“With two floors of luxury watches and jewellery, this showroom represents our commitment to providing an exceptional luxury retail experience to the vibrant city of Liverpool.”

Grosvenor-operted Liverpool ONE is celebrating its 15th year this year. In late September LBN revealed a report showing the estimated £4.1bn impact on the city since 2008. The Abu Dhabi Investment Authority has a 69% stake in the complex.

Rob Deacon, asset management director at Grosvenor, added: “Liverpool ONE continues to attract prominent UK retailers.

“The recommitment of premium names such as Goldsmiths further establishes the scheme as one of Europe’s leading retail and entertainment destinations.”

Metis and CBRE acted for Liverpool ONE. Goldsmiths acted for themselves.
