From summer 2024 Jet2.com and Jet2holidays will offer 20 routes out of Liverpool Airport and due to high demand it now says it will launch three extra routes for summer 2025. Tony McDonough reports

Jet2.com and Jet2holidays are “staggered” by the surge in demand for its first flights from Liverpool John Lennon Airport and have now announced a further three routes for 2025.

In May this year Jet2 announced it would be operating from Liverpool for the first time, offering routes to multiple European destinations from spring 2024. It later unveiled a winter schedule of eight routes.

Now, with demand for summer 2024 flights and holidays exceeding expectations the carrier is adding three more routes for its summer 2025 programme. It will also add an extra aircraft at Liverpool taking the total to five.

These three new roles are to Malta and Malaga and Reus in Spain. This will make a total of 23 summer destinations in 2025 with almost 70 weekly flights departing during peak periods. These can be booked from today. 

Steve Heapy, chief executive of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, said: “We have been absolutely staggered by the incredible response from customers and independent travel agents across the region.

“We are seeing very strong demand from customers and independent travel agents wanting to book their summer sun early and get the best availability and choice.

“As the UK’s largest tour operator, we have listened to what our customers are telling us and reacted by putting our summer 25 sun programme on sale from Liverpool John Lennon Airport nice and early.”
