Work is to restart on a stalled Liverpool city centre residential development in Liverpool city centre.

Known as ‘The Eight’, the 120-apartment project on Grenville Street/ Upper Pitt Street, near Chinatown, came to a halt last year when the original contractor, Forrest, encountered financial difficulties.

Now Liverpool developer and construction firm Legacie Developments has signed a entered into agreement with another developer, Iliad, to complete the scheme, which now has an estimated completion date of December 2020. 

Legacie has established a track record of delivery on the number of recent city centre schemes, including Water Street’s Reliance House and Ropemaker Place in Renshaw Street. 

The firm is also set to deliver the forthcoming Parliament Square development in the Baltic Triangle for which the company is both developer and builder. 

John Morely, founder of Legacie Developments, said: “Legacie has a track record of delivering quality developments in Liverpool and the across wider North West. We are looking forward to getting this development back on track and bringing it to fruition in partnership with Iliad.”
