Legacie starts work on £90m Baltic Triangle residential scheme

Legacie Developments has started work on its £90m residential scheme in Liverpool’s Baltic Triangle district.

Parliament Square will comprise 500 apartments across four blocks. It will also include a public plaza comprising of shops and restaurants. The apartments will feature panoramic views, high-spec interiors, and a rooftop spa complete with a swimming pool, which will be available to residents.

A luxurious New York-style penthouse, located at the top of the building which includes its own cinema room, has been listed on the market with Aspen Woolf for more than £1.5m. Prices for the one, two and three-bedroom apartments start at £94,000.

Legacie secured planning consent for the project in September 2018 following talks with objectors who included Baltic Area CIC, which has played a pivotal role in the transformation of the area.

There was initial anger when the scheme was first unveiled when it became clear it would lead to the demolition of the popular Constellations entertainment venue. There was also concern at the possible loss of green space.

However, Legacie met with Baltic Area CIC and promised to work with them to produce a scheme that would enhance the Baltic district, which in less than a decade has been transformed from a collection of abandoned warehouses into a thriving digital, creative and leisure hub.

“Parliament Square will have a transformative impact on Liverpool and will provide a significant boost to the area immediately outside of the city centre,” says John Morley of Legacie Developments.

“It is a unique development in that it will offer all of the facilities of a hotel on a residential complex. There will be restaurants, boutique shops and amenities including a gym and rooftop spa that will be available to residents. The public plaza will also be a gateway into the Baltic Triangle. 

“This is a major development. The significant international and regional interest in the scheme reflects Liverpool’s appeal as a thriving destination to live and work. We expect it to become one of Liverpool’s most popular addresses.”
