Liverpool BID Company seeks new board members

Liverpool BID Company is seeking dynamic decision makers to join the Commercial District BID as new board members.

Following the BID’s renewal ballot which received an 85 per cent ‘yes’ vote earlier this year, the BID is looking for new board members to help deliver the next five years of the business plan.

The BID’s aim is to strengthen the board with senior levy payers from broader business backgrounds. The organisation is looking for the board to represent a wider range of sectors such as digital, marketing, leisure, hospitality or finance whilst having a balance of ages, genders and people based within different areas of the district.

Over the next five years, £3.5 million will be invested into the BID’s priorities focusing on improving transport and digital connectivity, making a cleaner and safer district, driving business support and promoting an active and attractive district where businesses can start-up, stay up and thrive.

Board members can be from large organisations or SMEs that are currently BID levy payers who want to contribute to the success of the Commercial District by delivering initiatives that support the core areas within the BID business plan.

Bill Addy, chief executive of the Liverpool BID Company, said:

“This is an excellent opportunity for anyone who is looking to give back to the community and play a key part in the future of the district.

“This area of the city plays a crucial role in supporting Liverpool’s business economy. If you think that you have the experience and expertise to help, we would love to hear from you and work together to improve the experience that people have in this diverse part of the city.”

Board members are expected to attend a minimum of six meetings per year as well as additional forums based on their individual backgrounds and skill sets. Board members are expected to take a leading role among the BID team to help develop initiatives reflecting the main priorities for the district.

The board is currently made up of:

Jim Gill (Chair) – Professional Liverpool

Julie Johnson (Deputy Chair) – Morecrofts

John Clegg – Downing
Shane Fitzpatrick – Merseytravel

Colin Forshaw – Bruntwood

Paul Moran – Mason Owen

David Swaffield – Hill Dickinson

The deadline for expressions of interest is Friday 23rd December.
